What have I been up to?

Facebook & YouTube fun and growth

So, long time, no newsletter! I thought I should catch you up quickly on what I’ve been working on when it comes to the side-hustling.

I have 90% finished up with SEO when it comes to generating traffic and revenue for my side hustles, and that includes local SEO. I won’t say I’ll never go back to it, but I’ve been working on a couple of areas that are WAY more fun…

FACEBOOK & YOUTUBE!

Yes, everyone and their goldfish is raving about the possibilities on these two gi-normous platforms. Whether you just want traffic or you aim to build a brand, or something else, it appears the potential is vast. And when it comes to you and me, totally over trying to squeeze out a few organic clicks from Google, everything seems a lot more possible there.

Or it does to me, anyway! I’ve seen the potential and I’m diving in. Basically, I’m giving it all of 2025 to see if I can achieve success on these two platforms. I’ll even settle for success on one!

Anyway, it’s going well so far.

Here’s a rundown on what’s been happening:

YouTube

After seeing the success my good buddy Keith Mint is having with his channel (go subscribe to him here if you haven’t already!), I decided to bite the bullet and start developing content for a new channel. When I say “develop”, I mean “outsource”, because my video production and editing skills are superseded by the goldfish I mentioned earlier.

I’ve hired a top-notch editor on a freelancing platform, where I really struck gold when it came to hiring. I hired the FIRST applicant to my job as he really looked and sounded great, and what’s more, he is super affordable. I mean, there is no way I could be working with a guy with his skills if he wasn’t affordable - it just wouldn’t be worth the gamble creating content that might never be monetised.

With this guy though, I reckon I have a good chance.

I was also inspired by a past channel I created - way back in 2017. I had another editor create a video that really popped and got thousands of comments and hundreds of thousands of views (over the years).

I figured if I can do something similar but even better now, and scale it up as best I can, who knows where it could go, especially given the massive growth in the sheer numbers of people on YouTube itself.

My editor has produced two videos so far, and is working on the third and last one before we launch the channels. I’ll keep you posted…!

Facebook

There is so much I could write about Facebook and the possibilities, but let me just say I am having a LOT of fun testing, playing and experimenting on this platform with new pages, content creation, ChatGPT, Canva - and a very small daily budget for ads!

I have started a couple of new pages and am running ads to grow them to 10K followers. At the moment, I am getting followers to my main page for as little as $0.03 per follower!

Staggering!

This means I should be able to grow my page to 10,000 followers for around $300-$350!

My strategy to achieve such a low cost per follower is simple - I come up with a highly-engaging image for my ad, add a caption and a CTA asking people to like the page.

That is pretty much it!

Not only am I getting new followers with this simple approach (and keeping it simple is best on FB, as far as I can see!), but I am also getting people liking the ad itself, and from there, I can invite them to like the page.

Engagement has been great so far on the page. It’s a passionate audience but you do have to keep the page fed with engaging content! For that, I am using a planner so I am doing as little manual work that way as possible.

As for the strategies I am using, I purchased a top course at a steep discount, and it comes with a Discord community as well. It’s not all that active but there is a tonne of content there I am learning from.

So that’s that! I’ll keep it short (if that was short?), and do let me know what questions you have for now on either YT or FB!

Over the coming months I’ll keep you in the loop as to how both strategies are working. Stay tuned for my next email.

And man, it is SO much more enjoyable not checking Search Console even 1/10th as much as I used to!!

Enjoy,
Anton
